The African Human Security Initiative Secretariat at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) Office in Addis Ababa, cordially invites you to a launch of monographs on country reviews of the status of Crime and Criminal Justice Systems in selected APRM member countries to be held on 31 July 2009 at the Pretoria Country Club.

The African Human Security Initiative (AHSI), a network and partnership of several African organisations working on peace and conflict, has been using the opportunity created by the peer review concept to complement the formal NEPAD – Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) process. This was done through reviewing the criminal justice system in five countries identified for peer reviews [Zambia, Tanzania, Benin, Mali and Sierra Leone]. The reviews were done through local country partners in the selected countries and they mimicked the APRM methodological approach.
